Focusing on fitness sometimes can hit a snag during the holiday season.
It’s important to move through the festive season with a fitness plan that works well with your plans and activities you will face during the next month.
We work and work throughout the year to eat right and exercise, then all of a sudden, the schedules and menus change as we adjust to weekly celebrations that occur between Thanksgiving and New Years Day.
Reflecting over the past year, I’m excited about the habitual eating and exercise habits I’ve implemented into my life, which has caused me to gain strength and muscle and to lose body fat and pounds. I certainly do not want to back track this month and take away from those accomplishments.
While my past year has introduced a new way of eating and staying fit, the fitness trainers at Acme Athletics, located at 2231 Madison Street, are equipping me with the best holiday fitness plan I can use for the next month of celebrations.
It’s with the help of Brandon Anderson, the adult fitness coordinator at Acme Athletics, who has provided the most important instruction for the next several days: Enjoy them.
While attempting to maintain my overall fitness goals, Anderson said I must have a plan in place when facing those hard-to-ignore tasty holiday dinners.
“When preparing for the holidays, always start with your proteins,” Anderson said. “Then, add in some vegetables, and then go from there. Eat in moderation and remember, that one ‘off’ meal will not derail your progress.”
I started last year with the six-week challenge of Acme Athletics and decided to stay on, which has helped me tremendously.
They are offering the six-week challenge again this year, which includes three workouts a week, nutrition guidance, weekly activity checks and three InBody scans.
“We challenge people to either lose 10 pounds during those six weeks,” Anderson said. “Or, they can lose 2% body fat or gain 2 lbs. of muscle during that time period.”
The system works!
It does take a big commitment, but becomes part of your natural routine after six weeks.
I look forward to continuing on into 2024 on my fitness journey.
Thank you to all the readers who continue encouraging me and cheering me on. The invitation still stands for you to join me in this endeavor.
