YouTube star Gabbie Hanna has re-emerged as a YMCA fitness instructor after vanishing from social media nearly one year ago.
The local YMCA in Hanna’s hometown of New Castle, Penn., announced that the social media star had been hired as their “newest instructor” in an Instagram post last month.
“Hey everyone! 🌟 Get ready to dance, move, and groove because Gabbie Hanna’s classes are about to kick off TONIGHT! 🎉🚀,” the statement said along with a graphic listing Zumba, Ballet Body and Stretch and Breath as some of Hanna’s classes.
A video promoting Hanna’s new fitness gig has also gone viral on Instagram. The clip shows Hanna, 32, in a fitness studio introducing herself as a new instructor at the Lawrence County YMCA.
“You want to know the real secret to meeting your fitness goals?” she asks in the video. Cardio? Sure, that’s a part of it. Strength? Okay, also a part of it….But the real secret, the thing that’s going to ensure you meet your goals? Consistency.”
Hanna invited viewers to sign up for the local YMCA’s three new dance-inspired fitness classes.
“No dance experience required. All fitness levels encouraged,” she said while twerking her body. “Looking good starts with feeling good. Come take a class today and thank yourself tomorrow.”
Several fans applauded Hanna for launching her new workout career.
“GABS you look great, so healthy! Hope your classes fill up!! ❤️,” one supporter commented on her promotional video.
“She has light in her eyes again!!!” another fan wrote.
A fan commented that the YouTuber was looking “happy and healthy.”
“YAYYY we’ve missed gabbie, she looks great!! so glad she’s happy and healthy,” another added.
Hanna — who rose to fame as a Vine blogger in the early 2010s before turning to content creating on YouTube and TikTok — disappeared from social media in August 2022 after posting several concerning videos.

Many of her out-of-character TikTok videos were about religion and in one of her posts she claimed someone broke into her Los Angeles home. Hours earlier, she had let in a “stranger” named Nicolas who said he “felt lost” and “asked to use the bathroom.”
Multiple fans reported their concerns for Hanna’s well-being to the police and she received a wellness check.
Her sister, Cecilia Hanna, slammed the worried social media users for butting in on their family business and urged them to stay out of it.
Gabbie’s influencer career had been riddled with controversy over the years.
In 2017, she had to apologize for making a video about a former classmate who died from an overdose without consulting the girl’s family. The next year, she was lambasted for promoting a “free” set of makeup brushes that required a $10 shipping fee.
In 2019, Gabbie allegedly told fellow YouTube star Trisha Paytas’ then-boyfriend, Jason Nash, that the vlogger had herpes, which Paytas denied.
That same year, Gabbie was criticized for tweeting, “If I could be any animal I’d be a beyonce.”
She was also labeled a “rape apologist” after social media user Jessi Smiles said that Gabbie remained friends with Smiles’ ex-boyfriend, Curtis Lepore, after revealing he had raped her in 2013.
Her most recent controversy unfolded in April 2022 when she told her fanbase that they could overcome depression by taking up hobbies.
