David Beckham Sitting in a Freezing Cold Ice Bath Is the Kind of Content We Want to See

Not content with press-up videos and weighted-vest workouts, David Beckham has hit our social-media feeds with yet more fitness content. This time Becks has joined the buzziest wellness trend around by sharing a video of him sitting inside an ice bath in his underwear.

Captioned ‘self-care Sunday’, the legendary Manchester United and England footballer shared an Instagram Reel of him sitting, submerged up to his shoulders, in an ice bath in his garden.

‘3 degrees in here today,’ Beckham captioned his Instagram post, ‘perfect for a Sunday rest day.’ He also explained how he had asked his wife Victoria Beckham for a hot chocolate to keep him nice and toasty inside the cold plunge.

Many ice-bath enthusiasts argue over the perfect temperature for the cold plunge, with the science suggesting that 11-15°C for 11-15 minutes is sufficient. So it’s safe to assume that you could follow Beckham’s lead with 3°C providing the time frame is shortened.

However, it’s important to adjust the temperature and duration to your own needs and preferences, and of course ask your partner for a hot chocolate to make it a touch easier to endure.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen David Beckham grace our feeds in his underpants. Thanks to his wife Victoria, he was recently caught trying to fix their home TV in his underwear. Last week he also shared a video where he was performing press-ups.

We’re only a few short weeks into 2024, but Becks definitely gets our vote for fitness influencer of the year.
