A program on healthy eating and cooking conducted by Advocate Sherman Hospital staff members will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, at the Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave., Elgin.

The free discussion will provide tips on healthy eating and on preparing meals with nutrition and wellness in mind, according to a news release.

The Dundee Township Park District will offer a financial review as part of its meeting at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 17, at the Rakow Center, 665 Barrington Ave., Carpentersville.

The presentation will offer a look at the district’s finances to help the community better understand the financial laws and statutes it must comply with, according to an online release. Tax bills, equalized assessed valuation, tax cap law, fund balance policy, aquatic subsidies history and capital projects will be covered.

The information presented also will be available on the park district’s website, www.dtpd.org, shortly after the meeting.
