Fitness Factory has been open under owner Ryan Troutman for over two years. The gym offers classes, personal training at all fitness levels, tanning booths, saunas and a soon-to-be-installed cryotherapy chamber.
The cryotherapy chamber is set to be installed once building modifications can be made. Its benefits include pain relief, reduced inflammation, accelerated muscle healing and migraine treatment.
According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), “cryotherapy is the ‘super-cooling’ of the body for therapeutic purposes. Whole body cryotherapy involves exposing the body to vapors that reach ultra-low temperatures ranging from minus 200 to minus 300 degrees Fahrenheit.”
Ryan spoke highly about the specialized equipment within the gym saying, Fitness Factory has “equipment for competitive lifting, monolift, bell squat, specialty bars, strongman equipment, sandbags” and even a “nightclub atmosphere spin class with subwoofers, fog machines and party lights starting in about a month.”
Besides being a gym, Fitness Factory hosts Bible study groups every Thursday at 6:30 p.m., inviting even non-gym-members to attend. They are regularly involved in various charities such as Red Cross Blood Drives, Shoe Drives, Battered Women Collection Drives and recently hosted a wrestling tournament with proceeds going to the family of Carl Eiswerth to cover funeral expenses.
“This is my passion … I absolutely love it. The atmosphere here is fantastic, so not only do I get to work doing what I love but I get to change people’s lives for the better,” Troutman said.
