The findings of a new 2024 Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital Community Health Needs Assessment reveal that food insecurity and food deserts are among the top impediments keeping residents from being healthy in Halifax County.
Those results, along with nutrition being listed among the top three most serious health problems affecting Halifax County and neighboring Charlotte and Mecklenburg counties, were gathered through a combination of online surveys by Sentara and in person focus groups held by Tri-County Community Action.
