GRANGER, Ind. (WNDU) – As you get older, sometimes you might feel a few aches and pains throughout your day, and moving your body doesn’t feel like it used to.
One woman is showing her community that age is just a number.
She is a body pump and weight class instructor who is about to turn 75 this weekend.
Stephanie Williams may be tiny, but she is mighty!
She’s a body pump instructor and has been in the fitness industry for more than 40 years.
“I was a runner for some years and then I figured out that you can work out to music and I’m like I’m done with that running so I started doing aerobics and then just became a teacher,” said Williams.
Williams teaches classes at Knollwood Country Club in Granger every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
Over the years, she has gained regulars including Blair Herrman.
Blair has been in William’s fitness classes for 15 years.
“It’s like a club experience and you’re getting the better of a workout. That’s how she makes it. That is essentially how this class goes it is the most upbeat fun that you can get from a 75-year-old you can’t get anything better you can’t ask for anything better,” said Herrman a gym attendee and body pump aerobics instructor.
Oh yeah, did we mention Stephanie Williams turns 75 years old this weekend!?
We asked her if she agrees that age is just a number.
“Oh yeah, most definitely you know same thing with Fitness because people think when you get older that you need to be sedentary and don’t do much but I feel like if you keep moving, you’re going to make it too well what was Moses 120 yeah Mhm,” said Williams.
Williams is a firm believer that a body in motion stays in motion.
She encourages all of us to move every day.
