A shocking incident unfolded at a Planet Fitness in Valparaiso, Indiana, where 24-year-old Varun, of Indian origin, was stabbed on a Sunday morning.
Varun, who frequented the gym, fell victim to a violent assault, leaving him in grave condition. Local authorities promptly responded to a call received at 8:45 a.m., where they discovered a man suffering from a knife wound.
Following a thorough investigation, the police identified Jordan Andrade, also 24 years old, as the suspect. Andrade now faces charges of attempted murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and is currently held in the Porter County Jail.
Varun has been transported to Fort Wayne’s Lutheran Hospital in Indiana where he is taking treatment for his grave injuries. His condition is reported to be serious.
The Valparaiso police have reassured the public that this appears to be an isolated incident, alleviating concerns about ongoing threats to public safety.
