Nothing prepares you (or helps you recover from) a full day of eating better than getting a good workout in. If Thanksgiving is known for anything, it’s known for being a day to stuff your face with ALL the comfort food and maybe a few too many desserts. Of course, you can always prepare for the big meal by attending your local turkey trot, but for those not too keen on running you might prefer to lift weights instead. But on any holiday, there’s always the concern that the establishments you can generally rely on to be open like grocery stores or fast food chains might close their doors to allow their employees to celebrate with their families. So, what about Planet Fitness? Will the go-to, low cost gym be open on Thanksgiving in 2023?

Is Planet Fitness Open on Thanksgiving 2023?

With some locations open 24/7, you might expect your gym to be open this turkey day. However, as always, hours may differ depending on the location, but for the most part Planet Fitness will be closed on Thanksgiving. Some locations will also have reduced hours the day before Thanksgiving, closing between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. As for the day after Thanksgiving (aka Black Friday), you might want to hit the gym early after completing all of your early bird shopping, but most Planet Fitness locations will open later than normal on November 24. You can expect them to open between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. the day following Thanksgiving. So, if you were hoping to get in a quick pump before all the turkey, you’re likely out of luck, but be sure to call your specific Planet Fitness location to confirm their Thanksgiving hours before giving up all hope.
