Ask any pastry-lover, and chances are croissants rank high on their list of favorite bakery items. What’s not to love? Layers upon layers of flaky, buttery goodness are rolled into the perfect crescent shape that is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. While the average croissant can be a delectable treat to indulge in every once in a while, if you’re looking for a lighter option, these viral better-for-you croissants from Hero Croissants might be worth a try.
These flaky pastries are handmade in Sonoma, California by a local French bakery. But what really makes them special is the good-for-you ingredients like 20 grams of fiber and 10 grams of protein, which aid in healthy digestion and blood sugar regulation.
The croissants, which come in batches of six and 12, sold out three times, and now there’s an 8,000-person wait list for these pastries. And it seems like customers can’t get enough, judging by the reviews.
“These are awesome! They are crispy and flaky and wonderful! Please create more and maybe add some flavors as well!” said one customer. “These are delicious. Can’t tell the difference between them and bakery croissants,” said another.
Croissants are a versatile baked treat, so it’s no wonder they are a favorite amongst pastry lovers. You can have one alongside a cup of coffee, slice one in half for a delicious sandwich, or even use a few to make decadent French toast. Or try chopping them up into cubes and frying for a French take on croutons.
