You already knew Julianne Hough to be a dancing queen, from her reign as a co-host on Dancing With The Stars to the fun dance moves she pulls out anywhere and everywhere. But did you know she can also shred the gnar? Yep, Jules is a surfer.
The 35-year-old dancer treated her Instagram followers to a little photo dump, showcasing the start of her fall. Julianne included a selfie from the set of DWTS, a pic of her new puppy, and two pictures of herself in bikinis, flashing her toned abs, arms, and butt. Who says October isn’t bikini szn, anyway?
But the best of all of the snaps was one of Julianne riding a wave with impeccable form. She looks seriously strong as she surfs, with her sculpted legs and booty on full display. (You can literally see the muscles bulging out of her legs!)
“A glimpse into the last few weeks 🤍” Julianne captioned the photos. “Being back on set for @dancingwiththestars has been such a whirlwind of an experience. I’m also making sure to take the time to do the things I love… which lately has been all about surfing 😎.”
Julianne’s fans were quick to jump in and let her know how awesome her new hobby was, of course. “As if your dancing talent wasn’t enough, you can surf too?” wrote one follower. Another added, “Surfer Barbie!!” Indeed, Jules does look like a total doll up on her board.
So what is Julianne doing to stay in tip-top dancing and surfing shape? She loves all different types of movement, she previously told WH in 2019.

But the Footloose actress’s biggest secret to success is group fitness classes. Jules said she loves SoulCycle and hot power yoga, in addition to weightlifting, which will all definitely help with that core and leg strength needed for surfing. Speaking of which, here she is shredding more waves:
And when Julianne isn’t on her surfboard? She’s dancing, of course. She even launched her own fitness platform called KINRGY.
The 45-minute exercise sessions combine tai chi, cardio, strength training, qigong, and energy work. Together, they create a “high sensory activated” dance class. That’ll definitely get your heart rate up!
When it comes to fueling her body, Julianne likes to start her day with green juice to make sure she gets her nutrients in early, she told WH. And for most meals, she reaches for grilled proteins or veggies, and tries to stay away from foods that cause inflammation.
Keep surfing through life, Julianne!
