Kroger Health hosts global conference to promote healthier eating

CINCINNATI (WKRC) — Nearly 700 people from around the world have gathered in the Tri-State area this week for a special conference hosted by Kroger Health. The event, titled “Nourishing Change,” is taking place at the Hard Rock Casino and brings together healthcare providers, grocers, and innovators who have developed new products globally.

Participants at the conference have the opportunity to sample and vote on their favorite products, with the winners set to be featured in local Kroger stores. The event aims to encourage healthier eating habits.

Laura Brown, Kroger Health’s Director of Nutrition, highlighted the resources available to help consumers make healthier choices.

“We have dietitians who provide virtual care so from the comfort of your home you can meet with a dietitian, and if you are a loyalty member, you can meet with them for free, 30-minute session, to learn all about the better food products in our store and the fantastic tools we have available on the Kroger website and in the app to help you shop healthier,” said Brown.

When asked about current food trends, Brown emphasized the importance of fruits and vegetables.

“When people ask me as a dietitian what’s the magic pill I can do to live a healthier life, eat more fruits and vegetables because fruits and vegetables are so nutrient dense, they have all the vitamins and minerals your body needs, but also dietary fiber,” she said.
