BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) – Molina Healthcare of Mississippi kicked off its Headed Home Healthy initiative, by giving away healthy snacks, fruits, and natural juices to the Biloxi Boys and Girls Club.
The initiative began Monday at the IP Casino and Resort, and about 98 kids in the club were served on Tuesday.
A representative for Molina said parents should be looking out for unhealthy habits their children may pick up during the summer.
”Let’s go ahead and drink a lot of water and cut back on juices that are high in sugar and things like that,” said Molina Mississippi Healthcare Manager Karla Smith. “Offer an apple as opposed to chips or processed foods, and make sure we’re staying active. It’s easy for all of us to get home and relax. But get home and stay active.” she added.
Molina Healthcare will be at the Pass Christian Boys and Girls Club on Wednesday. The initiative will then visit the Boys and Girls Club in Gulfport on Monday, April 29.
