Before the holiday season arrives to ruin your diet, now’s the perfect time to try Local’s new Autumn/Winter menu. The dishes have just changed, but the priorities remain the same – rich flavours and healthy eating. Expect at least a dozen new options, along with the return of fan favourites that “promise to delight regulars”.
As tradition dictates, start with the starters. Opt for the bisque with camarão and pregado (€6.10), an unexpected pairing that surprises with its creaminess, or try the cogumelos à bulhão pato (€7.20) if you’re in the mood for something more traditional with a twist. Moving on to the mains, there’s plenty to choose from, like the pregado with cevadotto of peas and mint (€18.40) or the mediterranean chicken with red rice (€14.90).
The spotlight, however, is on the Asian-style duck (€17.90), which had previously bowed out from Local’s menu but is now back with its vibrant colours and mix of textures. For those on a vegetarian or even plant-based diet, the return of the chickpea tagine (€13.90) and the roasted lentils and vegetables with harissa (€12.90) – two refreshing options – will be a welcome treat for many loyal customers.
Also famed for its pokes, Local couldn’t leave this part of the menu without a bit of buzz. For Hawaiian poke fans, there’s the maui (€15.20), featuring a mix of salmon, tuna, mango, cucumber, edamame, macadamia, mayo, avocado, sushi rice, and classic sauce. Or try the miso salmon (€15.50), with salmon, avocado, roasted sweet potato, shiitake mushrooms, edamame, crispy onion, nori strips, Portuguese quinoa, sesame, and miso sauce.
As no meal is truly complete without dessert, expect new options like the chia pudding with blueberries and acai (€5.50), alongside the more traditional almond tart (€4.80), as well as the return of favourites like the lemon tart (€4.70) and blackberry cheesecake (€6.40). The cherry on top is knowing these desserts are free from wheat, lactose, and refined sugars.
To toast, there’s nothing better than the local juices. Focused on nutritional values and their benefits, new flavours have been added, such as carrot crush (€3.80), green kick (€3.80), and pineapple punch (€3.80). It’s up to you to decide whether you need to boost your immunity, keep your skin and eyes healthy, or just enjoy a low-calorie, diuretic drink alongside your meal.
The new menu isn’t the only update. With the holiday season fast approaching, group dinners are already being planned, and Local has everything set to avoid the usual confusion when it comes to choosing. The three new group menus range from €37 to €49 per person, featuring shareable starters, main dishes you’ll want all to yourself, delicious desserts, and free-flowing drinks throughout the meal. These menus are perfect for gathering colleagues, family, or friends, and celebrating everything the festive season has to offer.
