NAVARRE, Fla. — Santa Rosa County has opened its third public fitness court on Friday.
The new Navarre Fitness Court is officially available to the community. It’s located at the Navarre Sports Complex on 8840 High School Blvd.
“Our facilities and parks department staff did a wonderful job putting in this fitness court,” said Commissioner Ray Eddington. “This is a free, accessible place for everyone to improve their health and foster connections with one another.”
This year, Santa Rosa County was one of the many recipients to be awarded a $30,000 grant from the National Fitness Campaign (NFC) to help fund the program. On top of that grant funding, the board allocated approximately $140,000 of Half-Cent Sales Tax funds towards the project.
“Created with people aged 14 and over and with all abilities in mind, the workouts are adaptable for all fitness levels, allowing participants to move at their own pace,” says the release. “Users also may download the free Fitness Court App which acts as a coach-in-your-pocket and enhances the outdoor gym into a digitally supported wellness experience.”
Other locations in the county that feature a fitness court are:
- Don Salter (Pace) Community Center, 5976 Chumuckla Highway in Pace
- Tiger Point Community Center, 1370 Tiger Park Lane in Tiger Point/Gulf Breeze
