ถึงแม้ว่าเวลาจะผ่านมาเป็นระยะเวลานานกว่า 30 ปี แต่ภาพยนตร์อีโรติกระทึกขวัญระดับตำนานเรื่อง Basic Instinct ยังคงได้รับความนิยมและถูกยกมาเป็นประเด็นถกเถียงในอุตสาหกรรมภาพยนตร์และป๊อปคัลเจอร์อย่างต่อเนื่อง และล่าสุดนักแสดงนำหญิง Sharon Stone ที่ปล่อยหนังสือชีวประวัติของตัวเองอย่าง The Beauty of Living Twice เมื่อปี 2021 กลับมาเแชร์มุมมองและเล่าถึงประสบการณ์อันน่าหวาดกลัวในการถ่ายทำที่เปลี่ยนชีวิตของเธอผ่านบทสัมภาษณ์กับ People อีกครั้งในวัย 65 ปี โดยเธอกล่าวว่า “การต้องเผชิญหน้ากับตัวเองและส่วนลึกในใจที่ฉันนั้นกลัวและไม่กล้าจะขุดมันออกมาในขณะกำลังถ่ายทำเปรียบเสมือนการได้ส่องกระจกอันมืดมน” พร้อมให้แง่คิดว่า “ทว่าหลังจากทำมันสำเร็จฉันสามารถเดินออกมาจากจุดนั้นได้ด้วยความมั่นใจเพราะฉันได้ก้าวข้ามผ่านมันไปได้สำเร็จ” พร้อมยังเผยว่าเธอนั้นรู้สึกภูมิใจที่ภาพยนตร์เรื่องนี้ยังคงได้รับความนิยมจนถึงปัจจุบัน

ก่อนหน้านี้ชารอนเคยออกมาเล่าเรื่องที่เธอถูกทีมโปรดิวเซอร์ในกองถ่ายหลอกให้ไม่สวมกางเกงในสำหรับฉากห้องสอบสวนสุดไอคอนิกที่เธอต้องนั่งแยกขาในชุดเดรสสั้น ด้วยสาเหตุว่ากางเกงในของเธอจะสะท้อนแสงในเลนส์กล้องทำให้เกิดความไม่สมจริงตามบทภาพยนตร์ ทว่าเงาในชุดเดรสนั้นมืดมากพอที่จะทำให้ไม่เห็นจุดซ่อนเร้น ซึ่งเธอกลับต้องตกตะลึงกับความเป็นจริงเมื่อภาพยนตร์ถูกนำมาฉายในโรงภาพยนตร์ทั่วโลก และนอกจากนี้เธอยังเคยเผยถึงความไม่ยุติธรรมจากภาพยนตร์จากปี 1992 อีกว่านักแสดงนำชาย Michael Douglas ทำรายได้มากกว่าเธอถึง 13.5 ล้านเหรียญสหรัฐฯ หรือราวกว่า 400 ล้านบาท ทั้งๆ ที่บทบาทของทั้งคู่นั้นเป็นตัวละครหลักเหมือนกัน ซ่ึงผลงานเรื่องนี้ทำรายได้ไปกว่า 352 ล้านเหรียญสหรัฐฯ ทั่วโลก กลายเป็นภาพยนตร์ที่ทำรายได้สูงอันดับ 4 ในปี 1992
