Shilpa Shetty is a firm believer of working out to stay fit and the actress inspires us to do the same. But for those who find it hard to let go of the laze, the actress has introduced a new solution. Incorporating dance into exercise, she has shown that workouts can be fun too. In her recent Instagram entry, the actress was seen matching the beats of music and performing aerobics simultaneously. Quite creatively, she named the drill, “Sab taal-mel ka khel”. Her hand movements resembled classical dance gestures, an art she is already a master at. Spreading her legs apart as a form of stretching exercise, the diva swayed in the rhythm while executing the exercise. Her fitness coach Yashmeen Chauhan joined the bandwagon, carrying out the dance-cum-workout with Shilpa. According to the Sukhee star, “As long as you keep moving you will stay motivated.” Her motto? “Swasth Raho, Mast Raho”.
Earlier, Shilpa Shetty dished out some much-needed Monday motivation through her yoga endeavour. Dressed in a yellow bralette and black tights, she revealed that yoga was her “go-to” exercise, be it “at home or on a vacation or back from a vacation.” Combining two postures — Virabhadrasana and Skandasana, she cited the benefits of doing them together. The dual workout was beneficial to strengthen the core and thigh muscles. “It also improves balance, increases hip and pelvic flexibility, and gives a deep stretch to the groin, hamstrings, and Adductor muscles.” Promoting enhanced flexibility, it enables a person to pull off more challenging asanas.
Shilpa Shetty can make even the most difficult workouts look easy. On a “Pilates kinda day”, the fitness enthusiast lay on a mat with her hands outstretched while her legs were pinned straight to the wall. She gently moved her hips left and right and focused on her breathing. Shilpa explained that pilates “works almost every muscle in the body right from the heels to the head.” It helps in lowering stress levels, stimulating the nervous system, increasing blood flow, and boosting mind-body connection.
