Daniels Center

The South Ormond Neighborhood Center has officially been renamed the Joe and Elwillie Daniels South Ormond Neighborhood Center.

The Center has the following amenities:

•Baseball/Softball field

•Outdoor basketball courts

•Outdoor tennis courts

•A gymnasium with pickleball and basketball

•Walking trails

•Outdoor exercise equipment

•A splash pad

•Playground

•Pavilion with grills

•Indoor fitness room

•Community Center and meeting rooms

The center is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at 176 Division Ave., Ormond Beach.

Daytona Beach pools

The City of Daytona Beach offers swimming pool access at the Cypress Aquatic Center, 981 George W. Engram Blvd., and Campbell Aquatic Center, 400 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

Cypress is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Daily admission is $3 for adults and $2 for ages 17 and younger.

Campbell is open noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Admission is $1.

Children 7 years and younger must be accompanied in the water by a parent or responsible supervisor who is at least 16 years old.

Cherry Center

Grown Folks Basketball will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. every Thursday at the Julia T. and Charles W. Cherry Cultural and Educational Center at 925 George W. Engram Blvd., Daytona Beach.

Men ages 40 and older are invited to play and show some game. Admission is free.

Dickerson Center

The Dickerson Center offers cardio kickboxing at 308 S. Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd.

Classes for adults are from noon to 1 p.m. Monday to Friday and 5 to 6 p.m. for youth ages 5 to 17. Each session is $5 per person.

Nova Community Center

The gym at Nova Community Center is open at 440 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 1 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Ormond Beach Tennis Center

Ormond Beach Tennis Center is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday to Sunday at 38 E. Granada Blvd.

It offers play for members and non-members, and classes seven days a week.

YSG Community Center

Kung-fu and Tai-Chi classes are offered from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Yvonne Scarlett-Golden Cultural and Educational Center, 1000 Vine St., Daytona Beach. The fee is $40 per month.

Open gym for Daytona Beach residents to play basketball is from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Friday, and from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Port Orange REC

The Port Orange REC offers a variety of fitness classes and events at 4655 City Center Circle.

A daily pass is $2 for youth, $4 for seniors and students, $6 for adults; monthly and annual memberships also are available, as well as income-based youth scholarships.

Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Oncology Yoga classes

A free Oncology Yoga Class for cancer survivors will meet at 11 a.m. each Wednesday at AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach, Oncology Lobby, 401 Palmetto St.

Classes are taught by Karyn Clancy, a licensed occupation therapist and certified yoga instructor.

Senior Fitness

The Edgewater Public Library, 103 W. Indian River Blvd., hosts a Senior Fitness Class from noon to 1 p.m. each Monday and Friday.

Walking club returns to Volusia County

Volusia County Parks, Recreation and Culture invites people of all ages and skill levels to join the newly expanded Red Hot Chili Steppers walking club.

The free club was created to get fit, make new friends and enjoy the great outdoors.

The walking club will meet at 9 a.m. Thursdays at Gemini Springs Park, 37 Dirksen Drive, DeBary. The walk will last an hour and will be led by county staff.
