Miley Cyrus has practiced yoga since practically forever, and every once in a while, she’ll casually drop a few moves on social media that’ll make your jaw drop. Well, prepare to be amazed yet again.
The 30-year-old singer just shared a black and white video of herself on Instagram going through a yoga series. And she does it all while impressively balancing on a paddleboard that’s floating in the water next to a gorgeous tropical landscape. In the background, her song “Island” is playing. The whole clip is an impressive—and picturesque—workout.
Miley does a twisting lunge with one arm in the air before slowly moving into a plank—a position that requires some serious core and upper arm strength. From there, she lowers herself down via a tricep pushup before raising into a cobra pose, all of which will definitely work your triceps and biceps.
Then, Miley goes into upward dog, then another lunging twist. Finally, she wraps things up by kneeling, throwing her arms into the air, grabbing her paddle, and starting to move again.

People cheered her on in the comments. “Does everybody know how f—ing hard this is to do,” one fan said. “MC yoga posts will ALWAYS be iconic,” another wrote.

Back in 2016, she told Jimmy Fallon that she’s been practicing for years. She focuses on Ashtanga yoga, an energetic style with an emphasis on coordinating breaths with movements.
“The thing about Ashtanga yoga is that sometimes it can be really uninspiring because the teacher will say, ‘Oh, don’t worry, that’s just going to take you 10 years [to get], and you’re like ‘Wait, what?’” she said.
Yoga isn’t ~all~ Miley does for workouts, though. She gave fans a BTS sneak peek of the rest of her workouts in her “Flowers” music video. She cruised through battle ropes, Spiderman crawls, bridges, step-ups with a resistance band, burpees, and more, like a total boss.
Also in the mix: Pilates. Miley shared a video of herself doing Pilates on a Cadillac reformer in 2019 with arms and legs extended into a perfect “V” shape. In the caption, she noted that she loves “growing/strengthening.” And, of course, her abs were totally chiseled in the pic.
